RCIA
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a formal process of faith formation for three types of participants:
CATECHUMENS
Catechumens are those who have never been baptized and are seeking to become Catholic.
CANDIDATES
Candidates are baptized Christians who are not Catholic but seek to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.
ADULT CATHOLICS
Adult Catholics seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation, who receive instruction in the essentials of the Catholic faith.
RCIA allows Catechumens, Candidates and Adult Catholics to learn about all things Catholic. To those who are not Catholic, it offers the opportunity to make an informed decision about entering the Catholic Church. RCIA provides for those who complete the faith formation process the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism (if they haven’t yet been baptized), Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist. Receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion takes place at the Easter Vigil.

Our prayers and the Sacraments of the Church are spiritual lifeboats taking us back to God.
