Altar Guild

A team of lay persons devoted to maintaining the beauty and sacredness in the Church. They work behind the scenes. They dust and clean the furniture in the sacred worship space, the sanctuary; decorate for feasts and seasons in the liturgical year; care for the flowers, plants, holy water fonts, candles; launder altar linens, ministry robes, altar server vestments, priest albs; assist with other needs specific to the care and upkeep of a sacred space. Their work is an offering to God and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is part of their prayer, whether in the parish church itself or as they launder altar linens and vestments in their homes.
