Ave Maria Parish's religious education program is for a way of life, integrating catechesis with faith modeled in the family. Family involvement and regular participation in the Sunday Mass are crucial to spiritual development at every age.
Adult Faith Formation
Adult catechesis and preparation for Confirmation will depend on prior religious education. Contact Arielle Harms for more information.
Preparation for First Communion and First Confession is a two year process, requiring a consecutive year of religious education prior to the year of preparation for the sacraments. This usually takes place when the child is in first and second grade, with the child receiving fist communion at the end of his second grade year.
Equipping and encouraging parents in their role as the primary catechists of their children, A Family of Faith supports family faith formation through monthly parent sessions, monthly family meetings and materials for at-home catechesis. Click here for schedule and more information.
Preparation for Confirmation is a two year process, requiring one year of youth group in 9th grade and a year of confirmation preparation classes in 10th grade. Students receiving religious education in school still need to register for both years of confirmation preparation.
If you are an adult wishing to be confirmed, please contact Arielle Harms.
